2020 Annual General Meeting Minutes

 

Date of Meeting – Thursday, December 3, 2020
Location – online via zoom
Call to Order by Margaret Meyer, Chair of the meeting - 7:10pm. 

 

Approval of Agenda

A motion to accept the agenda as circulated was made by Dylan Robichaud seconded by Sandy Burton. Carried.

 

Approval of Minutes from the last AGM held on February 28, 2020 at the Howard Johnson Inn in Lindsay.  

A motion was made to approve acceptance of the minutes by Dylan Robichaud and seconded by Joan Abernethy. Carried.

 

Financial Report –Margaret Meyer updated the members of the health of the financial accounts for 2020, noting that the EDA is well poised in the event of a surprise election call.

 

Election of Directors for 2020-2021

CPC representative Josiah Martinoski conducted the Election of Directors in an Omnibus Fashion for the list of Board Directors who would like to serve on the board.  The following names were presented:

A Motion to accept the directors as read was made by Klara Oyler and Seconded by Dorothy Sanderson. Carried

Josiah Martinoski declared the nominations closed and presented the new board to members in attendance.

Margaret Meyer introduced our Member of Parliament, Jamie Schmale who provided a quick update from Parliament before introducing our guest speaker for the evening, Blaine Calkins, MP for Red Deer-Lacombe who shared the positive outlook for the Conservative Party in 2021.

Given the restrictions of the pandemic, the date of the next AGM was not set at this meeting.

 

Adjournment

A motion for Adjournment of the 2020 Annual General Meeting made by Julia Bryan Schmale and seconded by Paul Seear.  Carried
