FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Ottawa, ON - The Hon. Erin O’Toole, Leader of Canada's Conservatives, responded to today’s Statistics Canada report that Canada’s inflation rate was 3.7 per cent in July, the highest in almost two decades.

“The numbers released today make it clear that under Justin Trudeau, Canadians are experiencing a cost of living crisis,” said O’Toole. “It’s troubling that Justin Trudeau seems to not care about the skyrocketing cost of living that is being imposed on Canadians through inflation.”

Canadians need a plan to lower costs and make life more affordable. That’s why Erin O’Toole has released Canada’s Recovery Plan that contains detailed proposals to address the affordability crisis, including measures to lower prices on food and banking fees, while taking action to stabilize the housing market.

“With the Liberals, NDP, Bloc and the Greens, we can expect more of the same,” said O’Toole. “More costs. More debt. And More fiscal mismanagement. Only Canada’s Recovery Plan will make life more affordable for Canadians.”
